The frameworks and research that inform The War Is Over Lyceum approach.
We draw from established understanding of the autonomic nervous system, particularly the sympathetic (threat response) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) systems. Our tools are designed to support parasympathetic activation.
This includes understanding of the vagus nerve's role in stress regulation and the mammalian diving reflex.
Our frameworks incorporate principles from behavioral psychology, including classical and operant conditioning, exposure therapy concepts, and habit formation research.

We reference established philosophical traditions including Stoicism, Buddhist psychology, and New Thought principles. These are presented as wisdom traditions, not religious doctrine.
The concept of fear as a conditioned response draws from multiple traditions that address the nature of suffering and the path to peace.
The work draws from principles articulated in Napoleon Hill's work regarding the relationship between fear and drifting. Key concepts include:
We approach content with awareness that many readers have trauma histories. We do not pathologize responses to adversity. Instead, we frame survival responses as adaptive—learned patterns that served a purpose and can be updated.
This is educational content, not treatment. We do not provide diagnosis or therapy.
